Badda Bing! Microsoft sets it’s big guns on Google (again)

May 27th, 2009 by Deapea

According to a report on Advertising Age’s website, http://adage.com/digital/article?article_id=136847 Microsoft have shifted their attentions back to challenging Google and the lucrative online advertising market it provides.  As well as re-branding their latest search engine technology as Bing (previously project Kumo),  they are planning to spend a whopping $80 - $100 million advertising the service.

To put this expenditure in perspective, Google themselves spent in the region of $25million last year and a MAJOR national roll-out (in the US that is) will normally ‘only’ extend to around $50million.
