Facebook app launched for Nottingham Building Society

Robin's Spot the Ball Facebook app

There’s nothing our web developers love more than football (although coffee does come close) so we were really pleased when the Nottingham Building Society asked us to create a Facebook app in celebration of the World Cup.

The app, called Robin’s Spot the Ball, is a modern twist on the classic “Spot the Ball” game and gives users the chance to win great prizes. To play, a user is shown an image of Robin Hood and his friends playing football but the football is missing from the scene. Users must select where on the grid they think the football is located. Once they’ve made their selection, they can enter into a prize draw for Love2Shop vouchers and a SMART TV. Each week during World Cup the image changes, which means users have four chances to spot the ball.

In addition to the main competition, the app includes a friendly rivalry between local branches to see which branch can get the most members to participate. Before submitting their entry, users are also asked which branch of the Nottingham Building Society or Harrison Murray Estate Agent they are a part of. Their submission then gives that branch a point on the Branch Leaderboard.

Nottingham Building Society’s Digital Marketing Manager, Babita Wakelin, stated;

“Working with Cite was a pleasure and an extremely simple process from the initial designs through to the final testing. They delivered a fully working app within the short deadline and were even able to accommodate some last minute change requests that were required. We have high hopes for this World Cup game and have already received great feedback from our followers.”
