Complete web site redesign, full content management and e-commerce...

Helix has been established since 1887 and has evolved from a traditional British manufacturer of scholastic and technical drafting instruments into a dynamic global marketing led distribution organisation of innovative education, home & office and craft products. Helix is perhaps best known for it's range of school apperatus, including the world famous Oxford Maths set.

We were awarded the project over several regional web design rivals and were appointed to completely redesign and expand the Helix site. The site is divided into four distinct areas, covering corporate, Education, Home and Office and Craft with Helix. The latter three include a fully content managed catalogue of the entire Helix range of products, allowing Helix staff to easily add new product lines as they are launched. Each section has it's own visual identity.

Working closely with Helix’s marketing, IT, Studio and logistic departments, the project was a real challenge from a project management perspective, and ultimately one of our most rewarding. The next phase of development will see the Crafts section of the site expanded to include full e-commerce functionality along with consumer focused information for budding crafters, such as techniques, hints and tips and Q&As. The site will be supported by TV celebrity, Stephanie Weightman.

Work is underway on a series of further projects for Helix, including an e-commerce store in partnership with Neighbourhood Watch and a comprehensive, content managed distributor section.

We have worked very closely with the team at Cite over the past 18 months in refocusing our web position for a range of web sites. They have provided invaluable consultative input throughout the process and have been a pleasure to work with.
