Laithwaites is the UK's No.1 independent wine specialist. The company was established by Tony Laithwaite over 30 years ago. Previously called Bordeaux Direct, the company has grown to enjoy a national reputation for quality and good service.
Our involvement in the design of the new web site was creative and consultative, spanning a four-month period. The overall visual concept for the site had been established - we were commissioned to 'follow through' the approved designs across site, and ensure creative best practice throughout the project. Our role was also to liase between the marketing department and the technical division.
Prior to this phase of development, we had designed the original sites for both Laithwaites and the Sunday Times Wine Club. This involved close collaboration with the client, from the presentation of the original concepts, through to the eventual launch of the site. As well as the planning of the e-commerce process, equal attention was given to the supporting information, such as the 'About Wine' and 'Region' guide sections, ensuring the site has an authoritative voice.
