Complete web site redesign, full content management and e-commerce...

The Ladies' Golf Union was founded in 1893 and is the governing body for ladies' amateur golf throughout Great Britain and Ireland. There are currently around 2,750 clubs representing some 220,000 lady members.

The LGU approached us to design and deliver a fully content managed site, enable e-commerce for their branded apparel and implement a secure system to allow competitors to enter championships online. This system integrates with their accountancy software (Sage), thereby making a huge saving in time and resources.

2004 - 2005 Comparison

The LGU's chief executive, Andy Salmon, is delighted with the new system. "We deal with international entries for a variety of championships and to do so manually is very time consuming. The new entry system will save us time and staff costs and help us to develop much more efficient working practices over the long term."

The web site was designed and delivered from scratch, and is fully compliant with W3C and accessibility guidelines. The site is highly optimised to maximise search engine ranking and has been extremely well received.

"The web site has dramatically cut down administration but more importantly has made our championship entry process much more accessible worldwide. It is interesting to note that in 2005, tournament entries overall rose by 10% and we believe this to be mainly down to our online system. We realistically expect over 90% of all entries next year to come through that route."

- Susan Simpson, Director of Championships

Since launch, we have continued to work closely with the LGU and have undertaken a series of web related projects.
