Mio Destino is the designer lingerie website where men can buy luxurious lingerie for women. With men in mind, Mio Destino has set out to proffer advice on how to set about buying designer lingerie for their loved one.
The creative requirement for the site was to develop a distinctive brand that appealed to men, without alienating women shoppers. The site set out to offer the extra information (such as lingerie guides written as practical guides rather than fashion articles) that men may feel embarrassed requesting in a real-world boutique.
Targeting well paid professionals, the site design uses a palette of sophisticated greys that provide a neutral surrounding for the stunning photography. A modern, typographic style and clear navigation methods help guide customers through the shopping experience.
The project confirmed in October 2006 with the website at the heart of the project required for launched the end of November in time for the crucial Christmas period.
Since the site was launched, we have paid particular attention to optimising it for the major Search Engines. The site now occupies top page rankings for most important keyword searches.
Without giving away all our techniques, these results have been achieved by a combination of content optimisation and an extensive linking campaign bolstered by the addition of MioBlog, a light-hearted online publication which sits alongside the main e-commerce site.
A powerful e-commerce engine sits at the centre of the site delivering the store’s content through highly customised templates. Mio Destino’s administration staff have full control of the site via the Content Management System (CMS) and extensive reporting is achieved using Urchin 5 the leading statistics software package. The site uses XHTML/CSS, PHP, MySQL and XML technologies.
The Mio Destino website has exceeded all trading expectations, with an extensive and loyal international customer base.
