Wine-lovers will be happy to hear that we recently launched a new digital campaign for Wines from Rioja that promoted this year’s Rioja Tapas Fantasticas festival. The festival, which took place in London on June 14th-15th, celebrated Rioja wine, tapas, and Spanish culture. Working closely with Rioja’s PR agency, we created a campaign that helped promote the festival while also increasing engagement with Rioja’s Facebook fans.

The first step of the process was to redesign and develop a responsive website for the Rioja Tapas Fantasticas festival. To help visitors make the most of the site, our web designers included larger images, an interactive photo and video gallery, and a timetable of events. The site is also linked with Eventbrite, so users could purchase tickets online before heading to the festival. The site was built with WordPress, which allowed administrators the ability to update the site quickly and easily.

Once the site was in place, we developed a Facebook information tab that acted as a mini-website, so users could find out all about Rioja Tapas Fantasticas without leaving the Facebook page. The tab also included calls-to-action that led people to the site in order to purchase tickets and get wine and tapas matching tips.

Our Facebook developers also created a Facebook competition that gave people a chance to win a trip to Rioja, Spain! Users simply had to answer a multiple-choice question and submit their details to enter. Everyone who entered was also automatically given a voucher to use at this year’s festival.

Following the development of the competition, we also planned a Facebook ad campaign to promote the festival and the apps. In addition to researching target audiences and developing up a two-month schedule, we also wrote, designed and set-up eleven ads, which we monitored throughout the campaign.
