We’re happy to announce the launch of a new Advent Calendar app for Wines from Rioja. The app features on Rioja’s UK Facebook page and gives users the chance to enter a new competition each day until Christmas.

Every day this month a new window containing a 24-hour competition will be unlocked. To enter, users simply need to answer a multiple-choice question and enter their contact details. Prizes range from bottles of wine to hampers filled with Spanish food, all of which are sure to be a treat at the Christmas table.

Since more than half of Facebook users access the site through a mobile device, the app was built responsively so all users have a good experience, no matter what they view it on.

Managing 24 competitions in one month can be a daunting task. To help, we developed the Facebook app in such a way that it reduces the administration as much as possible. This includes automatically turning on and off the competitions, and limiting users to one entry per day. The app also integrates Facebook Insights and Google Analytics so Rioja has a clear understanding of how users engaged with the app.

This app follows on from our work on Rioja’s Tapas Fantasticas campaign. We’re really pleased with final result and can’t wait to see what Rioja’s fans think.
