Cite’s WordPress developers launch CyberSmart Awards microsite

We’re happy to announce our recent launch of a new WordPress website for the 2013 CyberSmart Awards.

The CyberSmart Awards is sponsored by ESET and is the UK’s first competition that recognises people’s efforts to make the Internet safer.  Visitors can nominate themselves or others, view the shortlisted entries, and vote for their favourites. Social media buttons are integrated on the site so users can share their entry with friends and family. The site also includes loads of resources and tips to help people navigate the Internet safely.

The CyberSmart Awards is taking submissions until March 11th. Finalists will be chosen from the visitors’ votes, and a panel of judges will choose the winners.  The first place winner receives a grant of £5,000 to continue their good work, and second and third place winners get funding of £500 each.

In addition to the website, we also created a Facebook tab that allows people to enter the competition and vote through CyberSmart’s Facebook page.  Entry information is pulled in dynamically, which means the Facebook tab updates itself whenever changes are made to the website.

Although the site has only been up for a week, it’s already getting positive attention from the media, including a featured article in the Daily Telegraph, and an endorsement by the UK Safer Internet Centre.

As a digital agency we’re proud to be part of a campaign that helps people stay safe online. We wish everyone who participates good luck in the competition.
