E-tailing goes from strength to strength

Following on from last week’s blog about the rise and rise of e-tailing, Rory Cellan-Jones has an interesting article on his dot.life blog confirming the continued boom in online sales.

Statistics from Nielsen Online report that UK online sales were up by a staggering 37% by the end of 2008. Cellan-Jones goes on to state that:

‘…Amazon is at the top of the list with a monthly audience of 15.6 million. But that was a rise of just 18% on the previous year, whereas the figures for some traditional retailers were far more spectacular. Argos saw its audience rise by 32%, Marks and Spencer had a 46% rise and Littlewoods’ audience was up 66%.’
