Facebook developers create app for BBC Good Food

Our Facebook developers have recently launched a new Advent calendar app for BBC Good Food. The app is packed with great holiday treats that are sure to please everyone around the Christmas table this year.

Every day this month a new window will open to reveal a recipe, tip or cooking tool to help people plan the perfect Christmas dinner. In addition to the featured content, windows include links to alternative recipes and users can share their thoughts and read other people’s tips in the Facebook comment boxes.

Each day users will also be offered the opportunity to sign up for the Good Food newsletter, enter a Christmas competition to win a Good Food cookbook, and get a money-off voucher to a magazine subscription by simply clicking on the links provided.

The app was built using Open Graph technology, which offers users a more immersive experience and an opportunity to share recipes and cooking tools with their friends.
