Responsive website launched for NHS Confederation Conference

We’ve recently launched a new responsive website for the NHS Confederation’s 2013 Annual Conference and Exhibition.

NHS confederation responsive site

Every year, the NHS Confederation hosts a conference for NHS staff from across the UK.  The three-day event attracts thousands of visitors and its programme is filled with sessions covering a range of health-related subjects and exhibitors from around the country.

Our team of web designers and web developers were asked to create a website that allowed people to easily find the information they were looking for. To do this, we created an interactive programme, which allows users to filter events by day, subject, and tags. Visitors can also learn more about the sessions and speakers, and get travel information for the area in Liverpool where the conference is taking place.

The website also functions as an important marketing channel, and bookings, sponsorship and exhibition opportunities take prominence on the site. Because the NHS Confederation uses social media a great deal to promote the conference, the website also includes share buttons and a Twitter feed.  The homepage includes promotional panels so administrators can highlight key speakers or events.

In order to accommodate the website’s mobile Internet users, we built this site using responsive design.  This allows the website to resize itself and adjust its layout depending on the size of screen it is being viewed. Not only will this help users before the conference, but it will also be vital to people accessing the site on mobile devices while at the event.

The website was built using WordPress because of its flexibility and easy-to-use Content Management System (CMS).

“Cite met [NHS Confederation’s] brief by delivering a great looking responsive website that delivered an intuitive and easy to use programme. They did this within our tight timescales and to the agreed budget. Cite worked really closely with us throughout the project, we felt they were understanding of our requirements and flexible when we needed them to be.”
