Intercede is a £10m pa turnover business, a cyber security company with a specialist product offering in credential management. Their MyID® product is the market-leading solution for the issuance and lifecycle management of digital identity for employees, citizens and consumers.

The project

Despite having the best products, unparalleled expertise in their field and strong technical partnerships, Intercede were failing to communicate effectively to the market and potential investors. Communications were ad hoc and not focused, and the outward marketing of the company was not meeting business objectives.

Evolving the brand

Intercede were suffering from a visual identity that was inconsistent, relied on stock imagery and a colour palette that was outdated and not appropriate to how they wanted to be positioned. The goal was to evolve the brand, and introduce a set of consistent graphic and photographic stylings that could be implemented across all marketing collateral.

Delivering the website

The previous website did not meet the needs of their audience and was failing to deliver sales leads – so there was a serious commercial imperative driving this project. After doing the competitor research, all stakeholders were in agreement with us that we needed a creative approach that made the site stand out from the competition. From winning the pitch to exploring a number of visual routes, we finally settled on the illustrative montage approach to drive the brand messaging.

UX process on this project

We worked closely with the client to confirm user personas and journeys. These informed the wireframes we created and refined into a clickable prototype. Insights from trialing this were addressed during the creative and development cycles that followed.

Designing with components

Common content patterns were established and designed as reusable components. Administrators use these to construct pages in a visually interesting way, without needing to be technically savvy or having design skills.

International reach

Intercede operate in several territories, and required a technical solution that offered differing messaging and content for each. To address this we configured the WordPress CMS to provide both multilingual and multi-regional functionality, with new territories rolled out as required.
