Round Table Event – Designing Digital for Real Life
12th March 2026 – 12:45pm – 1:45pm
Digital services now underpin almost every aspect of modern life, from healthcare and finance to public services, retail and commerce. Yet accessibility and inclusion are still too often treated as compliance tasks or edge cases, rather than core design principles.
The result? Digital systems that work well for some, but create confusion, anxiety or exclusion for many others.
This round table brings together leaders from financial services, healthcare, public services and digital delivery to explore a shared challenge:
How do we design digital systems that work for real people, in real life?
We’ll begin with a short, interview-style conversation with Faith Reynolds, Strategic Adviser at Devon Fields Consulting, whose work spans financial inclusion, Open Banking, regulation and consumer understanding. Faith is currently collaborating with LINK and Cite on a conceptual initiative that rethinks how digital services can replicate the clarity, trust and control people associate with cash, offering a powerful case study in inclusive design.
Using this as a springboard, the discussion will explore:
- Why accessibility and inclusion are still overlooked in large-scale digital programmes
- What “designing for the margins” teaches us about better systems for everyone
- What organisations can do differently in 2026 to embed inclusion by design, not retrofit it later
Following the opening discussion, the floor will open for shared experiences, questions and debate.
This is a practical, senior-level conversation for people shaping digital strategy today, focused on learning, collaboration and better outcomes for the people who rely on our systems.
